CLT construction Designed in tune with nature

Every Monte Cora unit is built from CLT — cross-laminated timber — a material made from sustainably managed forests that locks away more carbon over its lifetime than its production releases. The thickness and structure of the panels deliver excellent thermal insulation: in winter the house holds its warmth, in summer it stays pleasantly cool, and the need for heating and cooling is far lower than in conventional construction.

Phase one Grand House taking shape

Every CLT panel is manufactured to millimetre precision in factory conditions, following the exact architectural drawings, then transported to site and assembled like a precisely cut puzzle. This way of building is several times faster than conventional construction, is almost independent of the weather, and leaves minimal waste on site. The CLT structure of the Monte Cora Grand House, from floor to roof, took just twelve days. That factory precision guarantees a consistency and strength which is hard to achieve by hand.

To the external walls we add a layer of compressed wood-fibre panels, a ventilated air gap and the final outer cladding — which, in Monte Cora's case, will be hard, charred ash, resistant to even the most demanding weather.

The result is an energy-efficient house that regulates humidity and temperature naturally, one whose scent and texture of timber feel like home the moment you step inside — and which stands as quiet proof that luxury, comfort and care for the planet really can go together.
